POLIO PLUS
As part of our contribution towards Rotary’s global initiative to eradicate Polio our first polio project was to vaccinate children in the Philippines in 1979. Since then Rotary, along with its partners, has helped immunize more than 2 billion children against polio in 122 countries. For as little as 60c, a child can be protected against this crippling disease for life This long-term project has reduced polio cases by 99 percent worldwide In 2012 India was declared polio-free, and only 3 countries now remain – Afghanistan,Pakistan, Nigeria. We are “This Close” to eradicating polio, but we need your help!! Join Eric Murray (Olympic gold-medal-winning rower) in getting behind this project
World Polio Day is October 24th. To support this the Browns Bay Team traveled all the Auckland Ferry terminals to raise money
